Chris Paul was again listed as questionable the morning of his Phoenix Suns’ home matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, according to the NBA’s official injury report.

He will not suit up due to a heel injury, according to the team.

Backup guard Landry Shamet also remains out while under concussion protocols.

Suns general manager James Jones told Arizona Sports 98.7’s Burns & Gambo Wednesday afternoon that Paul was unlikely to play vs. Golden State for an abundance of caution.

“For Chris, we’re going to be cautious because we’re thinking long term,” Jones said. “Just making sure that when he’s with us, he’s able to play at a high level and continue to build with this group. We’re banged up a little bit right now. But when we get him back, we want him back whole.”

Paul missed the past three games with the heel issue that cropped up in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, Nov. 7.

He is averaging 9.5 points and 9.4 assists per game while shooting 37% from the floor.

Cam Payne has started the three games in place of Paul. He’s averaged 18 points and 5.7 assists per game on 20-of-49 shooting (41%) from the field over those starts.

Phoenix (8-5) has lost two in a row heading into the ESPN-televised matchup on Wednesday.

Golden State lists veteran Andre Iguodala (hip/injury management) and forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. (back soreness) as out for the matchup.

The Suns won the teams’ first meeting of the year, 134-105. That Oct. 25 game included fireworks between Suns guard Devin Booker and the Warriors’ Klay Thompson, the latter of whom earned his first career ejection as the two exchanged words.

Golden State (6-8) has won three of its last four games but remains winless in seven road games so far this season.
