Arizona State senior linebacker and captain Kyle Soelle has accepted his invitation to the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl.

Soelle marks the second Sun Devil to be going to the college All-Star game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 2 after left guard LaDarius Henderson did so on Nov. 10.

The senior captain on Wednesday also accepted an invite to the 2023 Hula Bowl, another All-Star game, on Jan. 14 at UCF FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando.

Not only has the linebacker been the best at his position for ASU this season, but he has also been the best in the entire Pac-12 Conference and one of the top in the whole nation.

Despite missing last week’s 28-18 loss due to an upper-body injury, Soelle leads all Power-5 schools and ranks No. 4 in the country in total tackles per game at 10.9.

The fifth-year linebacker is a Sun Devil through and through, as the Valley native graduated from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale before spending all five years of his college eligibility in Tempe.

His brother, redshirt junior linebacker Connor Soelle, is currently in his fourth year with ASU’s football program after also playing at Saguaro.

Kyle Soelle will play his final home game at Sun Devil Stadium on senior day Saturday against Oregon State.

The Soelle brothers have never lost to the Beavers at home, as ASU is 19-1 against OSU in Tempe going back to 1969, with the lone loss coming in 2009.

Kickoff is set for 12:15 p.m. on Arizona Sports 98.7, the Arizona Sports app and ArizonaSports.com.
