If you’re looking for answers on the Eno Benjamin front, it looks like it’s going to be up to the fine folks over at NFL Films and if HBO’s Hard Knocks will offer us clarity.

Benjamin, surprisingly waived by the Arizona Cardinals on Monday, was claimed by the Houston Texans and didn’t say much on Friday.

“I actually haven’t spoken to anybody over there as far as the situation,” Benjamin said to reporters in Houston. “I feel like that’s as much as I’ll say about that.”

Cardinals general manager Steve Keim was asked by Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo if he could provide any of the reasons why Benjamin was released.

“(Head coach) Kliff (Kingsbury) I think addressed that and it was a decision made by the organization,” Keim said Friday. “We’ll wish him well in Houston.”

Kingsbury did answer a question about it but did not give any explanation either, saying earlier in the week “we’re always going to do what’s best for the organization” before stating it’s one of those cases where he’s not going to get into any of the details.

Benjamin was the Cardinals’ No. 2 running back behind James Conner and played well as a starter, arguably even better than Conner. Benjamin’s yards per carry of 4.3 best Conner’s 3.8.

As far as the details, it could come on the third episode of Hard Knocks, the documentary series following the Cardinals the rest of the regular season. NFL Films and HBO Hard Knocks director Terrell Riley said on the PHNX Arizona Cardinals Podcast that Benjamin will be in the next iteration and that it was “shocking.”
