The Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday released offensive lineman Jean Delance and defensive lineman Michael Dogbe, as well as running back Jonathan Ward from injured reserve.
The moves come shortly after Arizona’s 38-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. The Cardinals mustered just 67 rushing yards in the contest.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero added that Ward is “fully healthy” now and could contribute to playoff team needing depth.
Dogbe, a practice squad elevation for the game on Monday, has appeared in 10 of the Cardinals’ 11 games and has 15 total tackles.
Ward injured his hamstring in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5 but did not see the field much in 2022 before being placed on IR.
The shifty running back only saw 58 snaps through his five games this year — his third season with the team — all on special teams.
Ward signed with Arizona as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan in 2020.
The move marks the second straight week the Cardinals have parted ways with a running back after releasing Eno Benjamin following the victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
This leaves Arizona with three members in its running back room including James Conner, Keaontay Ingram and Corey Clement, who was activated to the 53-man roster on Saturday. The team also has RB Ty’Son Williams on its practice squad.
Ward’s highlight with the Cardinals came on a spectacular catch against the Dallas Cowboys last season that he trapped against a defender’s helmet on a fake punt.
HOW DID JONATHAN WARD CATCH THIS!? 🤯
