Mike Smith and the Phoenix Coyotes shut out the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday at Jobing.com Arena, breaking a four-game skid.

Here’s a look back at the game, by the numbers.

1

Though struggling mightily over the course of the season, goalie Mike Smith and the Coyotes looked different on Thursday. Smith got his first shutout of the season, staving off a plethora of power plays and shots.

4

Oliver Ekman-Larsson managed to extend his points streak to four on Thursday by assisting Antoine Vermette for the game’s only goal. The defenseman had tallied goals in his previous two games.

4:04

Of the last 4:04 of the contest, four minutes were spent on the power play for the Canucks, thanks to Martin Hanzal double minor for high sticking.

7

The Canucks squandered seven power play opportunities, including the four-minute one to end the game, on the night.

8

Hanzal had eight penalty minutes on the night, with tripping and slashing minors coming prior to his late-game double minor.

11

Both the Coyotes and Canucks managed 11 shots on goal in the 1st period, with Vermette scoring the period’s lone goal at 12:51.

29

Smith managed 29 saves in the shutout.
