These are some perks of being an NFL star.
For example, J.J. Watt makes a lot of money, enough to buy as many bags of Sour Patch Kids as he wants. He can purchase the candy himself or make his rookies stock the defensive line meeting room.
A third option: Get captured behind the scenes in his very public day job eating the candy, allow that film to permeate social media, then hope that Sour Patch Kids the company sees it and sends him some for free.
Easy enough.

Watt’s love for Sour Patch Kids was revealed in a teaser trailer for the Hard Knocks In Season series featuring the Cardinals. In the snippet that dropped in November, Watt snagged two pieces of candy — one blue and one orange — before sitting down for his position group session.
He drew attention for taking so few pieces but also for being so picky about the flavors.
A month later, Watt got a 2-pound box of Sour Patch Kids in the mail.
Not only that — the company labeled the box as “J.J.’s mix” and featured only the blue and orange sour gummies.
Congrats to J.J. Watt, who as a young child surely dreamed of playing in the NFL, getting loads of free candy and having a player-exclusive version of said candy.
