2024 NCAA Final Four logo a nod to Arizona

Dec 10, 2022, 7:12 AM

The NCAA and the Phoenix Local Organizing Committee on Tuesday unveiled the 2024 Final Four logo for men’s basketball.

The release marked a launch of the planning for the Valley’s second hosting of the Final Four.

“We’re excited to launch 2024 Men’s Final Four preparations,” Phoenix Local Organizing Committee co-chair Debbie Johnson said. “With a saguaro cactus silhouetted against a mountain, the logo captures the unique beauty of the Sonoran desert. The colors are bright and bold – a perfect depiction of our approach to hosting the Final Four.

“We are proud to be the standard bearers for an entire region and we promise that it will be an unforgettable experience for the visiting teams, alumni, fans, media and NCAA corporate champions and partners, as well as Arizona residents.”

The college basketball national semifinals will take place on April 6, 2024, with the title game coming two games later on April 8, 2024, at State Farm Stadium.

Glendale hosted the 2017 Final Four and saw more than 200,000 fans attend the three games. North Carolina defeated Gonzaga, 71-65, in that final.

Houston will host the upcoming Final Four in 2023.

“The NCAA is thrilled to bring its marquee championship back to Phoenix, which did a superb job of hosting the 2017 Final Four,” NCAA senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt said. “Regardless of which teams advance to the 2024 Final Four, we know their time in this area is going to be memorable for players, coaches, administrators and fans.

“The logo will serve as a permanent symbol and reminder of the long journey teams will take next season to end up in Glendale with a chance to win a national championship. But the logo also serves as a symbol of the countless hours worked by local organizers, host schools, stadium personnel and volunteers to stage the greatest sporting event in the world.”
