Devin Booker available for Suns, Clippers’ George and Leonard out

Dec 15, 2022, 2:10 PM | Updated: 2:54 pm

Los Angeles Clippers stars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard will not play Thursday against the Suns, while Devin Booker (hamstring) is available for Phoenix.

The Suns, however, will be without center Deandre Ayton (ankle) and backup point guard Cam Payne (foot).

The injury report for the Clippers ran long a day after a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

While George (left knee soreness) and Leonard (right knee injury management) are joined on the sidelines by starting point guard Reggie Jackson (left Achilles inflammation), starting center Ivica Zubac (left knee contusion) and reserve Luke Kennard (right calf soreness) are questionable.

Phoenix has its own long list of injuries.

Payne suffered a sprained right foot that held him to less than nine minutes in Phoenix’s 111-97 defeat against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. He has missed only two games this year and is averaging a career-best 12.7 points per contest. He started in place of Chris Paul during the veteran’s 14-game absence with a heel issue.

Booker has been out for the last two games with left hamstring tightness.

Ayton also exited Tuesday’s game against Houston, and he only played 15 minutes. He scored 25 and 28 points in his previous two games, respectively.

Duane Washington Jr. (left hip muscle strain) and Cameron Johnson (right meniscus tear) remain out.

The Suns are looking to end a five-game losing streak.

Catch the game at 8:30 p.m. on 98.7, ArizonaSports.com or the Arizona Sports app.
