Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill was “particularly active” speaking one-on-one with NFL accelerator program participants during the owners’ meetings in Dallas last week, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.

The NFL’s accelerator program is an initiative for owners to engage with general manager prospects to boost the league’s diversity in front offices.

Arizona general manager Steve Keim took a health-related leave of absence, the team announced on Wednesday, and Cardinals vice president of player personnel Quentin Harris and vice president of pro personnel Adrian Wilson are splitting GM duties in the interim.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has said previously and reiterated early Sunday morning that Keim’s future as general manager, a position he has held since 2013, is “in doubt.”

Harris and Wilson were two of 32 accelerator participants.

Should the Cardinals move in another direction at GM, questions would raise as to how much turnover the organization would see following a lost season and five-year extensions for Keim and head coach Kliff Kingsbury signed last offseason.

After reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2015 last year, Arizona is 4-9 entering the final stretch of the season and in position for a top 10 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
