The Arizona Coyotes signed goaltender Devan Dubnyk to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

“We are very pleased to welcome Devan to our organization,” Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney said in a press release. “Devan is a goaltender with great size, skill and experience. We are confident that he can continue to develop under the guidance of Sean Burke.”

The 28-year-old native of Regina, Saskatchewan played 34 games in the NHL last season with the Nashville Predators and Edmonton Oilers, posting 11 wins, a 3.43 goals against average and a .891 save percentage.

Dubnyk, who was selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Draft by the Oilers, has played in 173 NHL games posting a record of 61-77-22. He will replace Thomas Greiss, who signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday, as Mike Smith’s backup.
