Lost in the excitement that is the buildup to football season is the fact that basketball, too, is right around the corner.

The Phoenix Suns released their six-game preseason schedule Tuesday, and it includes three straight home games at Talking Stick Resort Arena on the front end of it.

The Suns host the Sacramento Kings Wednesday, October 7 in their first exhibition game. Two nights later, the Utah Jazz visit town and the Houston Rockets will be in Phoenix on October 13.

Then it’s on the road for three straight contests. Friday, October 16, the Suns will take on the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center before heading to San Antonio to play the Spurs on October 20.

The preseason schedule comes to an end the next night, October 21, in Dallas against the Mavericks at the American Airlines Center.

The Suns, coming off a disappointing 39-43 campaign, start their 48th season of NBA basketball on Wednesday, October 28 against those same Mavericks in downtown Phoenix.
