The Arizona Wildcats baseball team will wear throwback 1986 white uniforms in Tucson for the 2023 season, the team unveiled Monday.
Arizona’s white uniforms pay homage to the 1986 team that won the national championship over Florida State with former Arizona Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale on the roster.
The jerseys will be all white, with the Arizona A on the right sleeve and dark blue letters with aeration holes on the back. They will be paired with all blue hats.

Arizona went 49-16 during the 1986 season, en route to a No. 2 seed in the Pac-10.
The College World Series win was the Wildcats’ third national championship (1976, 1980). The team also won in 2012 to add to their total.
The Wildcats will open up the year in the MLB Desert Invitational tournament in February held in Phoenix, joining No. 4 University of Tennessee, No. 36 Grand Canyon University, Michigan State University, Fresno State University and University of California San Diego.
Arizona looks to find some of the 1986 magic and bounce back after coming off a Super Regional loss to eventual champions University of Mississippi last season.
