The Phoenix Suns made some moves on Tuesday to bolster competition to their frontcourt.

According to Paul Coro, the Suns reached agreements with former Philadelphia 76ers center Henry Sims and former Brooklyn Nets forward Cory Jefferson to compete for roster spots during training camp.

Sims is a 6-foot-10 center that has spent the last year and a half in Philadelphia, where he started 57 of the 99 games he played in with the team. He averaged 11.8 points and 7.0 rebounds a game in his 26 game stint with the Sixers in 2014, before posting 8.0 points and 4.9 rebounds a game last year.

Jefferson was taken with the last pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs, before being traded to the Nets on draft night. He averaged 10.6 minutes in 50 games last year, posting  3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per night.

The two big men, especially Jefferson, come to a Suns team that could be in need of big men pending how the Markieff Morris situation plays out.

Besides Morris, the Suns only have Mirza Teletovic and Jon Leuer as true power forwards on the roster.

The Suns currently have 13 players under guaranteed contracts, but can carry up to 15 at one time. Training camp begins Sept. 29 in Flagstaff with the first preseason game on Oct. 7 at home against the Sacramento Kings.
