The Pac-12 announced Monday that Arizona State guard Desmond Cambridge Jr. won conference Player of the Week following the Sun Devils’ sweep of the Oregon schools.

This was Cambridge’s second Player of the Week honor after winning the award on Nov. 21, the first Sun Devil to win the hardware multiple times since Remy Martin in 2019-20.

He also has won four Ivy League and one Mountain West Conference Player of the Week awards over his collegiate career.

He led the Sun Devils to their first sweep of the Oregon schools since 2010, averaging 21 points per game on 53% shooting in the two contests.

After trailing by 16 with five minutes remaining in the first half against Oregon State, Cambridge engineered the comeback scoring 18 of his 21 points after that mark.

The guard leads the Sun Devils in scoring this season at 12.1 points per game, adding 3.2 assists and 2.1 rebounds per contest.

Cambridge has been a catalyst in ASU’s 15-3 start, its best start to a season since 1980-81 when the team went 11-1 in the conference.

The Sun Devils have won four straight contests over the Washington and Oregon schools after dropping two straight against San Francisco and Arizona.

In Monday’s Associated Press top 25 poll, the Sun Devils were the third team left out of the rankings.

ASU looks to keep the momentum rolling as No. 5 UCLA comes to town on Thursday for a battle for first place in the Pac-12.
