Arizona State running backs coach Bo Graham resigned unexpectedly Monday after the school’s athletic department became aware that he had been in a relationship with a former Sun Devil athlete, multiple sources told CBS Sports’ Doug Gottlieb.

ASU said the reason for Graham’s sudden departure weeks before the season began was due to personal reasons.
Graham’s father, head ASU football coach Todd Graham, would only say that his son was pursuing other opportunities when he met the media following practice on Tuesday.
“Obviously I’m very grateful to Bo for the time he spent here, it means a lot to me,” Graham told the media. “We wish him the best at his new job and that’s all I’m going to say about it. It’s a personal matter.”
The Sun Devils replaced Graham with former graduate assistant Josh Martin, who had spent time coaching the offensive line.
