Coyotes throwback alternates named among ugliest NHL jerseys of all time

Last Thursday, the Arizona Coyotes busted out the original kachina-style jerseys they wore upon arriving in the Valley from Winnipeg in 1996.
And you know what? They worked.
The ‘Yotes snapped a 10-game losing streak with a win over the Vancouver Canucks while wearing the…umm…interesting uniforms.
This trip into sports fashion history inspired photo editors at SI.com to rank the 20 ugliest NHL jerseys of all-time. While the black threads the Coyotes sported last week didn’t make the list, the green alternates they wore from 1998 to 2003 did.
SI’s team ranked them as the 10th-worst in history.
A reminder of just how bad things got in the ’90s, these green alternates combined an under-designed alternate logo with a desert green background and a cactus-festooned trim that was as richly detailed as the old 8-bit High Noon game. Peyote may have been ingested during the design process.
To the website’s defense, the jerseys were an abomination. However, it’s somewhat hard to believe that they found nine others worse.
The honor for the worst of all time went to the Boston Bruins gold “Winnie the Pooh” alternates.
