The Arizona Cardinals enter their 2024 training camp with multiple players carrying big storylines.
Quarterback Kyler Murray will be a full participant in camp after missing out last year recovering from a torn ACL.
Rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will also be a topic of discussion after the Cardinals selected him with the fourth-overall pick back in April.
While Murray and Harrison will be major headlines throughout camp, there is another Cardinals rookie who could make some noise.
Pro Football Focus’ Bradley Locker has rookie defensive end Darius Robinson as the Cardinals’ player to watch throughout training camp.
… but given Robinson’s ability to line up inside or out, his positioning in Jonathan Gannon’s defense will be intriguing.
In his time at Missouri, he primarily played in the interior defensive line but switched to the outside in his final year.
Robinson saw career high marks in sacks (8.5), tackles for loss (14.0) and total tackles (43) in his final season.
As he gears up for his first NFL training camp, Robinson’s versatile skillset will be on full display amongst the defensive line battle throughout camp.
It could help him solidify his spot in the outside or in the trenches moving forward, according to Locker.
Altogether, Robinson’s performance during training camp could prove a sign of his rookie role, which Arizona likely anticipates being significant, considering the team ranked 28th in PFF pass-rushing grade last season.
Former Cardinals WR Rondale Moore named player to watch for Atlanta Falcons
Moore was traded to the Falcons in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder back in March. He was drafted by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Purdue.
While Moore never found his role within the Cardinals’ offense, Locker sees a more defined one under newly-hired offensive coordinator Zac Robinson.
The slot played an enormous role in Robinson’s offense in Los Angeles — look no further than Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua — so Moore’s responsibilities will be fascinating to watch early on.
In three seasons with the Cardinals, Moore had 135 receptions for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 249 yards and one touchdown in that span.
