The initial Arizona Cardinals injury report before their 2024 opener against the Buffalo Bills includes three players, two of whom are rookie backups.
Arizona on Friday ruled out undrafted rookie receiver Xavier Weaver with an oblique injury. Third-string tight end Tip Reiman (ankle) and special teamer and safety Joey Blount (back) are listed as questionable for the game Sunday.
Weaver is listed second on the depth chart at the slot position behind starter Greg Dortch.
Reiman’s blocking abilities projected him as a complementary piece next to Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins, the first two tight ends on the depth chart.
The Cardinals added Blount as a non-participant with a back issue on Thursday. He didn’t practice but was upgraded to limited on Friday.
Notable injuries for the Bills include backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky being limited with a knee injury to start the week before an upgrade to full participation on Thursday.
Bills defensive lineman Javon Solomon is out with an oblique injury, while fellow defensive end Dawuane Smoot is questionable with a toe issue that popped up on Friday.
