On the latest edition of the State of the Sun Devils podcast, Jeremy Schnell, Jesse Morrison and Damon Allred react to Arizona State football’s 30-23 victory over Mississippi State.
The win was the Sun Devils’ first over an SEC team in program history and saw them improve to 2-0 on the season.
Starting running back Cam Skattebo had one of the best single games in ASU history. He carried the ball 33 times for 262 yards while catching three passes for 35 yards. His 262 rushing yards were the second most for a single game in Sun Devil history.
A fumble recovery by C.J. Fite for a touchdown was crucial for the Sun Devils and Ian Hershey’s field-goal kicking improved from Week 1 with made kicks of 46 and 47 yards.
Quarterback Sam Leavitt struggled through the air with just 69 passing yards. However, he ran for 68 yards and two scores.
ASU has a short week as it plays Texas State on the road on Thursday.
