The Arizona Cardinals made a late tweak to their Week 5 injury report, as tight end Trey McBride was downgraded from available to questionable against the San Francisco 49ers with a ribs injury.
McBride cleared the concussion protocol this week, and head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters on Friday he would be good to go Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
The third-year tight end missed last Sunday’s 42-14 loss to the Washington Commanders after he took a shot to the helmet in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and full-go Thursday and Friday.
McBride has 14 receptions on 21 targets this season for 122 yards. He reeled in 10 catches for 102 yards in his most recent game against San Francisco in Week 15 of 2023.
Backup tight end Elijah Higgins saw an increase in snaps last week and caught two passes for 12 yards against Washington.
The Cardinals also listed kicker Matt Prater, offensive linemen Christian Jones and Kelvin Beachum along with defensive lineman Khyiris Tonga questionable, while cornerback Garrett Williams and offensive lineman Isaiah Adams are out.
The 49ers are also uncertain about their standout tight end, as two-time All-Pro George Kittle is also questionable with a ribs issue after he was limited in practice on Friday.
