The Arizona Diamondbacks had themselves a pretty good day on Tuesday.

A.J. Pollock’s seventh inning home run propelled the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies, giving them their second win of the day.

The D-backs defeated the Rockies 6-4 in the first game of the 18th doubleheader in franchise history.

Arizona’s offense struggled most of the night outside of a Paul Goldschmidt home run to begin the game, but managed to hang around thanks to a gritty pitching effort from Ruby De La Rosa.

It looked like it was going to be a short evening for the D-backs hurler after the Rockies struck De La Rosa for two runs off four hits in the first inning.

The right-hander settled down and went six strong innings by giving up just three hits and one run the rest of the way to earn his 12th win of the season.

His gritty night kept the D-backs in the game until the offense woke up in the seventh inning.

Phil Gosselin got hit by a pitch to open up the inning before Chris Owings walked. That brought up Aaron Hill as a pinch hitter, who whacked a two-run double to tie the game up at three.

After Ender Inciarte flew out to left field, A.J. Pollock homered for the second time in as many days to give the D-backs a lead they did not relinquish.

Josh Collmenter pitched two innings to pick up his first save of the season and second of his career.

Let’s take a look at the D-backs win, by the numbers.

7

The number of doubleheader sweeps in franchise history. The D-backs also swept the Rockies in a doubleheader earlier this season.

32

The number of consecutive games that Paul Goldschmidt has reached base against the Rockies, which is the second longest streak in franchise history behind Luis Gonzalez 38-game mark.

The number of times the D-backs totaled 10 or more hits against the Rockies this season in 15 games.

21

The number of hits by Ender Inciarte in his last 15 games.

47

The number of multi-hit games by A.J. Pollock, which leads the National League.
