Arizona men’s hoops will participate in the 2027 Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas, taking on Duke in the first basketball event at Allegiant Stadium.
The Wildcats and Blue Devils will tip off on Nov. 12, 2027, in a doubleheader with Indiana taking on Kansas at the home of the Raiders near the Strip. TNT Sports networks will broadcast the games on TV with further details to be announced.
Arizona and Duke put on a show last season at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, as the No. 12 Wildcats upset the No. 2 Blue Devils 78-73. The cross-country foes will meet again in Tucson on Nov. 22 to complete the home-and-home.
The storied programs have only played each other four times in the last 25 years, twice in the NCAA Tournament, including the 2000-01 National Final won by Duke that included future NBA standouts Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer, Gilbert Arenas and Richard Jefferson.
Arizona has won its last three games against Duke, including an NCAA Tournament victory in 2010-11 and a neutral site game in 2013-14.
The Wildcats start the 2024-25 regular season on Nov. 4 at home against Canisius University before playing Old Dominion, Wisconsin and then Duke.
Duke is No. 7 on the AP preseason poll, while Arizona sits at No. 10.
The Hall of Fame Series is a showcase of nonconference matchups around the country, including Phoenix, as Arizona State will play Grand Canyon at Footprint Center on Nov. 14. After hosting its first college basketball games, Allegiant Stadium will house the 2028 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
“Starting the college basketball season where it will end on the road to the 2028 Final Four in Las Vegas is a rare opportunity to celebrate the game,” NCAA senior president of men’s basketball Dan Gavitt said in a press release. “Duke, Indiana, Kansas and Arizona have combined to win 15 men’s basketball national championships.”
