Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker fittingly hit a step-back midrange jumper to reach the 15,000-point milestone in the opening minute of Tuesday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Booker became only the second player in Suns history to score 15,000 points with the franchise, joining Hall of Famer Walter Davis. He entered Tuesday one point away from the benchmark and dropped 12 points in the opening quarter.

The franchise scoring record is right around the corner for Booker, as Davis tops the list with 15,666 points. Booker entered Tuesday averaging 24.7 points per game this season and having scored at least 26 points in four straight games.
Booker is the ninth-youngest player in NBA history to reach 15,000 points, joining a club with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Carmelo Anthony, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Tracy McGrady.
Durant congratulated Booker on the achievement when an announcement was made to the home fans at Footprint Center.
Booker finished with 29 points, adding 12 in the fourth quarter of a 104-93 win.
