The Phoenix Suns ruled guard Grayson Allen out for the remainder of Saturday’s 133-125 loss to the Detroit Pistons after he exited in the third period after taking a shot to the head, the team said.
Allen left the matchup with 2:10 left in the third period after taking an elbow from Pistons’ Simone Fontecchio while going for a rebound. He is being monitored for a concussion, per the Suns.
Allen played 20 minutes and recorded just two points, two assists and three rebounds before coming out of the game.
The Suns were already without guard Devin Booker, who exited Thursday’s game against the Indiana Pacers with left groin tightness. It’s a recurring theme for a team that’s seen Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal miss time due to injuries this season.
Phoenix was down 15 after the first quarter but closed that gap to just five at the half, as the Pistons built a 103-94 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
