Just when you thought the Markieff Morris situation was over, a possible new development arises.
Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press tweeted that the Detroit Pistons have at least some level of interest in the Phoenix Suns forward.

Gather #Suns aren’t interested, but could change on Dec. 15 – the date most FA from off-season eligible to traded. #Pistons

Also gather the asking price is steep for Markieff Morris currently. #Suns #Pistons

This could mean absolutely nothing, as Ellis points out. There’s no doubt that Markieff would love to be reunited with his twin brother Marcus in Detroit, whom the Suns traded in the offseason while trying to free up salary space to pursue free agent LaMarcus Aldridge.
But for as much belly-aching as Markieff did in the offseason, he’s seemingly put his discontent behind him. The fifth-year forward spoke during Media Day last week and at least verbally erased some of the summer ugliness.
“I want to be here,” he said. “I’m glad to be back with my teammates and glad to be back with the team.”
Suns brass also appears to be past the ordeal and is counting on Morris to anchor the power forward position. The former Kansas star is coming off his best season as a pro — he averaged 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while being the only Suns player to start all 82 regular-season games.
The Suns open their preseason schedule Wednesday night at Talking Stick Resort Arena against the Sacramento Kings. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. and the game can be heard on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
