Once upon a time, Jeff Gordon was NASCAR’s sweetheart.

But between April of 2009 and February of this year, there
had been a drought for Gordon in terms of visiting the
winner’s circle.

Sixty-six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races had passed
without Gordon taking the checkered flag, but that streak
came to an end at Phoenix International Raceway in
February when Gordon won the Subway Fresh Fit 500.
