For the second time in four years, Clint Myers’ ASU
softball team claimed a national championship at the
Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
And it was a freshman who led them. Dallas Escobedo, a
frosh from St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, pitched
lights out in the postseason, including a 4-hitter in the
clinching 7-2 victory over Florida in the second game of
the best-of-three final series.
