Arizona Sports Hall of Fame class to be announced Friday

The 2012 induction class for the Arizona Sports Hall of
Fame
will be announced on Friday, January 13th.

This year’s ceremony will take place on March 29th at 3
p.m.
at the Wild Horse Pass and Casino, and will mark the 42nd
such event in the storied history of the Arizona Sports
Hall
of Fame.

The Phoenix Regional Sports Commission assumed
custodianship
of the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.

Last year’s inductees included Olympic gymnast Kerri
Strug,
rodeo’s Ty Murray, football Hall of Famer Randall McDaniel
and World Series co-MVP Curt Schilling. The 1997
University
of Arizona Men’s Basketball team was also the first team
to
be inducted into the Hall of Fame as picked by a vote of
the
public.
