Sereno 97 Girls, coached by Paul Taylor, is the first Arizona team ever to win an ECNL National Championship.
Sereno won Flight of the tournament by going 2-1 with wins over PDA and Real So Cal and a loss to West Coast FC.
“Congratulations to coach Paul Taylor and the girls for becoming the first team from Sereno and Arizona to claim an ECNL National Championship. The girls have competed and beaten the nation’s best,” stated David Robertson, Executive Director of the Sereno Soccer Club.
Sereno qualified for the national event by going undefeated at the playoffs last month in Aurora, Colorado.
