Carson Palmer wears Stepfan Taylor’s Stanford jersey after USC’s Pac-12 title loss

Former USC quarterback Carson Palmer lost a bet.
After his Trojans fell to Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship game, Palmer made his first appearance in front of the Arizona media wearing a cardinal red jersey — more accurately, Cardinal with a capital C.
That Orange Bowl patch would indicate it’s a Stanford jersey, and the No. 33 would indicate that it’s running back Stepfan Taylor’s Stanford jersey from his sophomore season.
“It was his idea, so he had to wear the jersey,” Taylor said.
Palmer, who won a Heisman at USC in 2002, may have read the Vegas odds for the Stanford-USC showdown and expected it to be a game. Stanford was a 4.5-point favorite heading into the matchup, but the bet was “straight up,” according to Taylor.
The Cardinal ended up winning 41-22.
“It was pretty bad,” Palmer said.
Anyway, we imagine the punishment could be a lot worse than Palmer wearing Taylor’s jersey.
Our thoughts are with third-string quarterback Matt Barkley, who is also a USC product and has been the victim of lost bets before.
