Arizona Sports’ 2013 Year in Review: Top Moment of the Year

Dec 27, 2013, 4:16 PM | Updated: 4:17 pm

Note: This is part of a series of posts you’ll see over the next week or so on ArizonaSports.com. We had a panel of 16 voters, including all of our on-air personalities, cast votes in several categories like Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Best Moment of the Year and many others.

The calendar year of 2013 offered many great moments in Arizona Sports.

Former ASU star Phil Mickelson shot a first-round 60 on his way to winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open for the third time in his career.

The Arizona Rattlers defended their title by beating the Philadelphia Soul in the Arena Bowl, claiming the franchise’s fourth championship.

The Arizona State Sun Devils and Arizona Cardinals each provided numerous memorable moments as both teams enjoyed stellar seasons.

But according to our Arizona Sports panel of voters, one moment shined brighter than all the rest in 2013.
