Feb 15, 2011, 8:02 PM | Updated: 8:04 pm

The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they’ve hired Louie Cioffi as defensive backs coach.

Cioffi comes to the Cardinals after 14 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals where he spent the last eight years as an assistant defensive backs coach. He joined the Bengals staff in 1997 as the the youngest assistant coach in the NFL at the age of 23. He started his coaching career with the New York Jets when he was 20 as a staff assistant from 1993-94 prior to leaving to be the wide receivers coach at C.W. Post University for two seasons.

While in Cincinnati as a defensive backs coach (2003-2010), the Bengals collected 150 interceptions, the fifth most in the league during that time.
