If you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the Arizona Wildcats after being swept by the Los Angeles schools, it just did. Freshman guard Allonzo Trier is out four to six weeks after breaking his right hand against USC on Saturday.

The freshman showed tremendous toughness, reportedly playing all four overtimes with the injury.

Trier has been the best source of offense for Arizona, making an instant impact in his freshman season. Earning more and more playing time over the course of this season, Trier moved into the starting lineup and is averaging a team-high 14.8 points per game this season.

The freshman out of Seattle is the most dynamic scorer on a team full of seniors. Able to both attack and finish at the rim while possessing one of the most lethal midrange games in the country, Trier has scored 20 or more points in five games this season.

He had 25 points in Arizona’s four-overtime 103-101 loss to USC on Saturday, two points shy of his career-high 27 against Fresno State.

Trier will miss a key part of the conference schedule for Arizona, which includes games against Washington, California and Oregon.
