The Super Bowl generates millions of viewers worldwide and also millions of dollars through sports gambling from casinos to office pools.
According to ESPN and the Westgate Las Vegas sportsbook, the opening line favors the Carolina Panthers by 5.5 points over the Denver Broncos.
Now, whoever is the favorite or underdog in the Super Bowl mainly only concerns Panthers and Broncos fans. Everyone else wants the prop bets.
Common prop bets usually consist of how long the National Anthem will be, what song will the halftime show perform and what color Gatorade will be dumped on the winning coach.
Super Bowl 50’s version includes a few creative ones:
The Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos share one thing in common: both were formerly coached by John Fox. How many times will the announcers mention Fox?
With the game being played on CBS, viewers can place bets on whether in-game insight former referee Mike Carey will be wrong on a replay. If you’ve watched an NFL game on CBS this season, you know why it would be worth putting your money on.
The Super Bowl’s location at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco will play a huge factor in betting, as fans can bet on if an earthquake will occur or how many times the broadcast will show the Golden Gate Bridge.
Coldplay was originally announced as the halftime show, but once it was revealed, Beyoncé was also announced to perform with them. The main focus now for prop betters is the color of shoes Queen Bee will wear.
The over/under on how many times Cam Newton rips his shirt open Superman-style is 2.5 times.
It’s safe to say Broncos fans will be betting the under.
