In the world of zany minor league promotions, teams often honor the celebration by wearing wacky uniforms. In the past, teams have taken the diamond in anything from “Wizard of Oz” jerseys to uniforms honoring 80s sitcom “Full House.”
The Albuquerque Isotopes are the latest team to jump on the bandwagon of TV-themed promotional jerseys.
On Aug. 6, the Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, will be holding a promotion honoring Saul Goodman, aka Jimmy McGill, of the AMC TV show “Better Call Saul.”
Players will take the field donning jerseys that will feature the lawyer’s likeness (played by Bob Odenkirk) and will feature the scales of justice sleeve patch and the numbers will be in brush script which is used in Goodman’s billboards and advertisements.
The show is set and filmed in Albuquerque and is a spin-off prequel of another critically acclaimed TV show set in the area, “Breaking Bad.”
The jerseys are scheduled to be auctioned off after the game.
