D-backs take a look at their virtual selves

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Not many forms of entertainment have progressed visually in the last two decades better than video games. What started out as simple base-to-base simulation has transformed into games that mimic every little detail on the field.

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb had the chance to witness this transformation firsthand when his face was scanned for an upcoming baseball video game.

While the Diamondbacks do not spend much time on the virtual diamond anymore, pitcher Tyler Clippard avoids playing as himself in the game because his attributes in the simulation don’t equate to his real-life talents.

Cronkite News reporter Torrence Dunham caught up with Lamb and Clippard to talk baseball video games.
