New Era began rolling out their MLB 2016 St. Paddy’s Day hat collection on Lids.com, and the Arizona Diamondbacks were included in the extra green extravaganza.
The D-backs’ look is simple: It’s an all-green version of their standard hats with the classic snake-inspired ‘A’ on the front.
Other teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies, and St. Louis Cardinals also began selling unassuming green versions of their spring looks.
Maybe the most puzzling St. Patty’s Day alternate is that of the Toronto Blue Jays.
They curiously went with a darker shade of blue for their standard spring caps, ditching any hint of red on the maple leaf logo.
Now it gets a little more controversial. Greening out the leaf logo indeed could be envisioned as a lucky St. Patty’s Day shamrock but people over Twitter have already viewed it as something non-indicative of the March 17 holiday.
