The Phoenix Suns announced on Friday they had signed forward Alan Williams to a multi-year contract.

Williams originally signed a 10-day contract with the team on March 8.

Williams appeared in his first game for the team Thursday night in Utah, scoring one point and collecting one steal in two minutes of action.

The 6-foot-8, 260-pound player went undrafted in 2015. He played for the Qingdao DoubleStar of the Chinese Basketball Association earlier this season, averaging 20.8 points and 15.4 rebounds per game. Prior to that, he averaged 20.5 points and 11.8 rebounds in four games for the Houston Rockets’ Las Vegas Summer League team.

A Valley native, Williams played at North High School and was named All-Arizona as a senior in 2011. He went on to attend UC Santa Barbara, and he left school as the Gauchos’ all-time leading rebounder and second-leading scorer.
