Arizona Coyotes defenseman Connor Murphy and Diamondbacks pitchers Daniel Hudson, Andrew Chafin and Evan Marshall have used social media to support 7-year-old Hollis Doherty’s fight with a rare form of cancer.

PGA Tour golfer Bill Haas, NBC sportscaster Jimmy Roberts and former NHL defenseman Mike Commodore are some of the many who have tweeted out the hashtag #hopeforhollis with a green heart drawn on their hand.

According to his website, Hollis had severe headaches with double vision, nausea, and weakness, which led to a tumor being discovered by doctors on his brain stem.

Hollis was then diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

In 20 days, the “HOPE for Hollis” gofundme page has been active, donations have amounted to nearly $55,000 from 411 donators.

The goal on the page is $100,000.
