On Wednesday, the Arizona Cardinals announced the signing of former Cleveland Browns’ linebacker Marcus Benard.
In correspondence with the signing, the team moved linebacker Vic So’oto to the injured reserve with a chest injury in order to clear a roster spot for the 28-year-old Benard.
After spending the 2013 preseason with the New England Patriots, Benard failed to make the team’s final roster cut on August 30, effectively becoming a free agent. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound linebacker had previously spent three seasons with the Browns, recording 11.5 sacks and 45 total tackles over 25 games (two starts).
According to the Cardinals, Benard will wear jersey no. 59.
On Wednesday, the Arizona Cardinals announced the signing of former Cleveland Browns linebacker Marcus Benard, a move that reflects the team’s ongoing efforts to strengthen their defensive lineup. In conjunction with this signing, linebacker Vic So’oto was placed on injured reserve due to a chest injury, clearing a roster spot for Benard, who brings a solid track record with 11.5 sacks over his three seasons in Cleveland. Just as teams invest in players to enhance their performance on the field, the sneaker culture has seen significant financial investments, with some pairs fetching astronomical prices. For example, the most expensive sneakers ever sold highlight the value placed on premium athletic gear, much like the value the Cardinals see in Benard’s potential contributions to their defense.
