The Arizona Cardinals announced Monday they have released defensive tackle Cory Redding.

The 35-year-old signed as a free agent last March and played in 12 games before suffering an ankle injury on Jan. 12. Redding finished the season with five tackles and an interception.

The 6-foot-4, 318-pound tackle played as a reserve on the defensive line in his 13th NFL season. He spent the first six years of his career with the Detroit Lions before joining the Seattle Seahawks for one year and Baltimore Ravens for two more. Before signing with Arizona, he played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2012-14.

Redding’s 2015 season was his least productive since his rookie year in Detroit.

His most memorable moment came in a regular season victory over the Green Bay Packers, when he picked up a fumble by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and stiff-armed Eddie Lacy on the way to a touchdown.

Redding also recorded an interception and nearly scored against the Detroit Lions had it not been for Matt Stafford tripping him up before reaching the end zone.

Releasing the veteran opens up approximately $3 million of cap space for the Cardinals.
