After he missed the last six games due to a right wrist injury, the Arizona Diamondbacks are placing David Peralta on the 15-day disabled list.

Peralta was hit by pitches twice on his right forearm against the San Francisco Giants in mid-April.

The 28-year-old is hitting .260 on the season with three home runs and 12 RBI. Peralta was looking to follow a breakout 2015, when he trailed only Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto for the best batting average in baseball after the All-Star break.

He injured the same wrist in October and missed the last three games of the 2015 season.

The D-backs are calling up veteran outfielder Michael Bourn to take Peralta’s spot on the roster.

After reportedly considering Bourn in April, the D-backs signed the 33-year-old to a minor league contract in May.

In Double-A Mobile, Bourn hit .318 in 23 at-bats with one stolen base.

In order to make room for Bourn on the 40-man roster, the D-backs designated right-handed pitcher Cody Hall for assignment.

Hall had a 7.98 ERA in 14.2 innings for Triple-A Reno. He was designated for assignment in January by the Giants and was then acquired by the D-backs.
