Process officially started, Whisenhunt jokes about QB search

Jul 26, 2011, 6:18 PM | Updated: 7:53 pm

Don’t think Cardinals Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt doesn’t hear the rumors.

Marc Bulger, Kevin Kolb, Matt Hasselbeck and, well, pretty much every QB not named Derek Anderson has been linked to the team, the only thing preventing them from coming to the Valley being the lockout.

“If you look at the history of this thing over the last couple months, every one of the guys that we’ve talked about having an interest in we’ve worked some kind of deal with them,” he said. “Unfortunately, this morning at 7:00 a.m. all of those deals vanished, and now we’re trying to get one of them in place.”

All jokes aside, it seems as though the Cardinals have a solid plan in place with regards to finding a quarterback. He said a deal is not likely to happen Tuesday, but would not give any hints as to who the team is really after.

“We’re looking, like we’ve said from the very start, we’re looking at a number of different players, we’re trying to get the best one that we feel makes our team better,” he said.
