Arizona State wide receiver Tim White is following up his breakout season with the Sun Devils football team to an impressive outing on the track and field team.

White, along with ten other Sun Devils, qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

At the NCAA West Regional, White posted the best mark in the triple jump, putting up a career-high 16.43m jump.

White is looking to follow up a disappointing run in the indoor track and field season when the redshirt junior failed to qualify for the NCAA championships after fouling out on his jump and disqualifying his measurement. His current mark from the West Regional would have had him finish seventh in last year’s national championships, which is no small feat for a two-sport athlete.

In high school, White was the male athlete of the year at Hart High School. He placed second at the state track and field championships in the triple jump and was all-conference as a defensive back.

The explosiveness of the wide receiver caught Sun Devil fans’ eyes in the 2015-16 football season. In his first season in Tempe, White caught 57 passes for 633 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had two rushes for 69 yards and took one kickoff back 100 yards for a touchdown against Utah.

White and his teammates will be competing in Eugene from June 8-11.
