D-backs catcher Castillo hits Cubs star Rizzo with throw back to pitcher

Jun 3, 2016, 12:40 PM | Updated: 4:34 pm

Well this is something you don’t see every day.

During the bottom of the first in Arizona’s road matchup with the Chicago Cubs on Friday, Diamondbacks catcher Welington Castillo’s throw back to pitcher Archie Bradley hit Cubs batter Anthony Rizzo in the helmet.

After the surprise of what just happened wore off, Rizzo turned to Castillo and gave him a mild shove in the chest before breaking out a smile.

It was clearly an accident, of course, and Castillo and Rizzo likely have a solid relationship from the time they spent together as teammates from 2012 until early last season.
