Parents shield child’s eyes while Coyotes, Stars players duke it out

Look away, honey! Look away.

The Arizona Coyotes’ meeting with the Dallas Stars on Tuesday was a very chippy contest.

Several fights broke out in the game, especially during the first period, including six seconds into the start of the contest. Not even five minutes of game time later, Arizona’s Kyle Chipchura and Dallas’ Brenden Dillon dropped the gloves and began to duke it out near the boards.

A family of three, including a young girl, literally had a front row view of the tussle, which went on for a good 30 seconds. The mother was quick to shield the daughter’s eyes from the violence, and later, the dad does the same, all while apparently filming the action with his cellphone and chuckling.

The fighting eventually abated at Gila River Arena, but the Coyotes and Stars still combined for 40 penalty minutes in the game. Dallas emerged victorious by a 4-3 decision, putting in the go-ahead goal with a little over a minute left in the contest.

Ice Bites: Coyotes need to use win over Kings as launching pad

The Phoenix Coyotes (soon to be Arizona Coyotes) kicked off a four-game home stand Tuesday in the sweetest way possible: Rocking their division rival, the Los Angeles Kings.
