Phoenix Mercury to be without Brittney Griner in Game 3 of WNBA Finals

The Phoenix Mercury will be without one of their stars when they try to wrap up the WNBA Finals Friday in Chicago.

Griner originally suffered an eye injury in Game 2 of the series. She also suffered a chipped tooth and bloodied lip during the game, which Phoenix won 97-68.

The second-year pro has averaged 15.5 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks in two games during this series, and is averaging 16.7 points, 6 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game during the playoffs.

Game three of the best-of-five series, which the Mercury lead 2-0, will tip off at 5:00 p.m. at Allstate Arena. It can be watched on ESPN 2.
