Osweiler, Miles named Pac-10 Players of the Week

TEMPE, Ariz.– Quarterback Brock Osweiler and kick returner
Jamal Miles were named Pac-10 Conference Players of the Week
in football on Monday. Both Osweiler and Miles were integral
in ASU’s 55-34 win over UCLA on Friday.

Osweiler, the Sun Devils second string quarterback entering
the game, came off the bench in to replace injured starter
Steven Threet late in the first quarter with ASU trailing
the Bruins 17-0. He finished the game completing 27 of 38
passes for 380 yards with four touchdowns and no
interceptions, all new career highs.He also added 35 rushing
yards and a touchdown.

Miles, a sophomore, returned a kickoff 99 yards for a
touchdown in the second quarter of his team’s win over UCLA.
He became the third different ASU player to return a kickoff
for a touchdown this season. Those three returns for
touchdowns this season are a school record and are tied for
a Pac-10 record.

Junior Onyeali is the only other Sun Devil to win the honor
in 2010. Onyeali won the award for his performance against
Washington State on October 30.
