Homegrown players save ASU, UA on signing day

Despite underwhelming in-state recruiting for what some claim is one of the best crops of high school players in the state’s recent history, Arizona and Arizona State both managed to save some face by signing homegrown players who fulfill two of their biggest needs.
“Mo Latu, the center out of Perry High School, [is a] very, very good player [and] a nice pick-up for Arizona State,” said ESPN college football analyst Tom Luginbill on Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf Friday morning. “And Ka’Deem Carey [was] a terrific pickup at the running back spot for U of A.”
