Former WR speaks out against Erickson

Dennis Erickson’s job security has been questioned time and time again.

Although the school seems to back the coach, it appears his former players do not.

Former ASU wide receiver Kerry Taylor was recently interviewed by Channel 3, where he decided to spout off his feelings about his former coach.

Just did an interview about the problems of ASU football and why Dennis Erickson is NOT the right man for the job.less than a minute ago via Echofon Favorite Retweet Reply

I want ASU to win Pac12 Championships, all us ASU fans do. But in order for that to happen we need a new Head Coach. That’s all I’m saying.less than a minute ago via Echofon Favorite Retweet Reply

Channel 3 will not air the video until Sunday as they want to interview Erickson so that he has a chance to respond to the criticism.

While the Sun Devils have struggled the past three seasons, it is very interesting to see Taylor’s remarks.

The receiver who caught 54 passes and three touchdowns a season ago clearly has some discontent with the current state of the Sun Devil football program, even though they are the trendy pick to win the Pac-12 South this season.

While athletes often say strong words and soften them up after they have time to cool down, that does not seem to be the case with Taylor.

After tweeting his complaints about Erickson, Taylor retweeted several people who either supported Taylor or voiced their frustrations as well.

The interview, which was supposed to be about Taylor’s younger brother’s commitment to play football at Washington, will put even more pressure on a coach who was already facing what could be a make-or-break year.
